Sometimes, ending a dynamic is disappointing.
Not because I regret the decision, but because I had hoped for better from the person involved. When boundaries are repeatedly pushed and trust is broken, eventually there comes a point where there is nothing left to salvage.
Recently, I had to let a paypig go for exactly that reason.
Since then, there has been an interesting attempt to get my attention.
Sending money to a friend of mine. A friend he knows he will never have any contact with, and where there is absolutely no possibility of that money creating any kind of relationship or interaction between them.
He knows that.
He also knows that I will inevitably hear about it.
It’s an attempt to get my attention without actually contacting me.
And perhaps there is an expectation that I will see it, react to it and eventually make contact myself.
I’m not going to.
There will be no reaction from me that leads to reopening that door.
And that brings me to something much more positive.
The return of a paypig who has come back for exactly the right reasons.
There is something incredibly satisfying about welcoming someone back who understands the dynamic, understands the expectations and genuinely wants to be under my control again.
No boundary pushing.
No attempts to manipulate situations.
No trying to find a way around a decision.
Just a very clear desire to be here and to prove that he deserves his place.
And apparently, he has set himself quite an ambitious goal.
He wants to become my number one paypig.
I rather like that ambition.
Of course, nobody simply gets handed that title. It has to be earned through consistency, loyalty, generosity, obedience and, most importantly, knowing how to respect the boundaries of the person they have chosen to serve.
Being number one isn’t about one spectacular payment or one dramatic gesture.
It’s about what you consistently bring to the dynamic.
And I have a feeling this particular paypig might just have what it takes.
He has returned knowing exactly what he wants.
He knows what I expect.
And he seems very determined to prove himself.
So we’ll see.
The position of number one is currently available.
And something tells me he may be planning to make it very difficult for anyone else to take it.
